Marshall County’s unemployment rate remains higher than it was last year. The county saw a 3.4-percent unemployment rate in November, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
That’s unchanged from the month before, but six-tenths of a percent higher than it was in November of 2017. The county’s labor force lost more than 850 people since last November, and the number of people working dropped by almost 970 during that same period.
Marshall County’s unemployment rate remains lower than the state and federal numbers, though. Indiana’s non-seasonally adjusted rate for November was 3.7 percent, while the national rate was 3.5. Kosciusko County has the lowest unemployment rate of Marshall County’s neighbors at 2.9 percent, while Starke County is highest at 4.2.
