The light replacement project at the Bremen High School football field is well underway and nearing completion, according to Superintendent Dr. Jim White.
Dr. White shared, “They took out all the old standards; it looks so much better without all the overhead wiring.”
He added, “They have all the new standards and lights mounted, all the pre-wiring is done so we’re just waiting for the under field directional boring to bring the length of power to them and they should be operational within a week or so.”
Superintendent White noted that the school corporation is working with the company Musco Lighting on the project. That company is utilizing a few different subcontractors to get the job done.
Dr. White added that while it is expected to wrap up soon, the final completion date of the project depends on the availability of the contractors.
As a reminder, when the school board members approved this project back in August, the estimated cost for the removal of the existing lighting and installation of the new equipment was approximately $494,000. The project is being funded with money from the $4 million bond that the school corporation was issued earlier this year.
