A Friday evening traffic stop in Argos resulted in the arrest of two Claypool residents.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, shortly before 8:50 p.m. on Friday, November 23rd, Officer Andrew Wozniak initiated a traffic stop on a gray 2005 Pontiac passenger car in the area of US 31 and 14C Road.
During the investigation, Officer Wozniak apparently utilized his canine partner Irok around the vehicle for a “free air sniff.” The canine alerted and officers searched the vehicle, reportedly locating 4 baggies with a small amount of methamphetamine, 2 baggies with a small amount of heroin, a syringe, methamphetamine pipe and other paraphernalia items.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Jack Allen Bocook, was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.
A backseat passenger allegedly gave a false name and date of birth at the scene. He was later identified as 31-year-old Arthur Crit Martin and was taken into custody for the same charges as well as a false informing charge. Martin was also found to have an active felony warrant out of Kosciusko County.
