Unemployment is up in Marshall County. The county saw a 3.4-percent unemployment rate in October, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. That’s up from 2.8 percent in September and 2.6 percent in October of 2017. The county’s labor force grew slightly from September, but it’s smaller than it was in October of last year.
Marshall County’s October unemployment rate is a tenth of a percent lower than the national rate and two-tenths of a percent lower than Indiana as a whole. Kosciusko County has the lowest unemployment rate of Marshall County’s neighbors at 2.8 percent, while Starke County is highest at 4.1.
