Argos School Board members approved the sale of some property when they met last Monday.
Superintendent Ned Speicher shared that several lots to the south of the school property were recently sold to another Argos entity for a housing project.
He explained, “We had six lots that were basically excess property for the school district and we sold it to the Argos Development Corporation and they will plan to build homes on the lots.”
Speicher said the school corporation sold the lots for $40,500. He explained the sale price was determined after both entities had the property appraised and they took the average of the two appraisals.
Speicher noted that they will be building family style homes and added that both of the groups agreed this was a positive move to continue developing the community.
