The Bremen School Board was updated about how administrators plan to utilize some safety equipment that was provided by Governor Eric Holcomb through a state-wide initiative over the summer.
Superintendent Dr. Jim White said that the use of metal detectors was addressed during Monday night’s board meeting.
He stated, “We went ahead and gave the board an update on how we want to use those and how we intend to use those and how we’ve been trained on them and provided some reassurance that they’ll be used in a manner congruent with our school policies and philosophies.”
Dr. White indicated that rather than passing a policy, some administrative guidance has been provided to school officials.
The superintendent previously mentioned that, like many schools, Bremen is waiting until NEOLA creates some specific guidelines about metal detectors before implementing an official procedure.
