The Plymouth Board of Works members considered the City Engineer’s bid recommendation for the fall street and sidewalk projects when they met on Monday.
At a previous meeting, Board members opened bids from Reith Riley, E&B Paving and Walsh and Kelly. City Engineer Rick Gaul asked to take the bids under advisement. He noted that he coordinated with the Street Department as well as City Attorney Sean Surrisi and Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver on the matter.
The officials came to the conclusion to go with Reith Riley who presented the lowest bid. He mentioned that their bid totals $458,856.76. Gaul added that the notice to proceed was presented to the company on September 5th and he just needed the board to affirm the bid. Board members provided a unanimous vote to do so.
Additionally, members approved a no parking request submitted by the company. They were seeking permission to prohibit parking in the areas they’ll be working on. Gaul explained that the Police Department will provide assistance with the vehicles that are parked in the areas that are temporarily off limits.
