Bremen School Board members reviewed teacher evaluations when they met Monday night.
Superintendent Dr. Jim White shared that the majority of teachers were ranked as highly-effective, with 87 percent of them receiving that distinction.
Another 11 percent of teachers were described as effective and only 2 percent were listed as needing improvement. Dr. White indicated that there weren’t any teachers who were described as ineffective.
As a reminder, school board members approved the corporation’s teacher appreciation grant distribution policy back in August.
The policy states that highly effective and effective teachers each receive a bonus. However, it also says highly effective teachers receive 25 percent more of the bonus than those who are listed as effective. That percentage is determined through state statute.
Additionally, it indicates that teachers who are described as ineffective or in need of improvement do not get a bonus.
