Marshall County’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.2 percent last month. That’s two-tenths of a percent lower than the previous month, but two-tenths of a percent higher than the same period last year.
Compared to July of 2017, Marshall County’s labor force has grown and the actual number of people employed has increased, according to the latest report from the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Marshall County continues to see lower unemployment than the state or national levels. Indiana’s non-seasonally adjusted rate was 3.5 percent last month, compared to 4.1 percent nationally. Of Marshall County’s neighbors, Elkhart County continues to have the lowest unemployment rate, at 2.6 percent.
