A Flash Flood Watch will remain in effect until 11 p.m. CDT/ midnight EDT tonight (Friday 6/22) for portions of Northern Indiana, including Marshall, Pulaski and Starke Counties.
NWS reports that scattered showers and thunderstorms capable of producing brief, localized very heavy rainfall will continue to be possible throughout the evening. A localized flash flooding threat will be possible due to this additional heavy rainfall, especially for areas that have received heavy rainfall over the past 36 hours where the ground is already saturated.
According to NWS officials, a Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Officials say that flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. For your own safety, monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action, should flash flood warnings be issued.
