Plymouth Board of Works members considered a few different requests during their meeting last Monday.
Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt presented board members with a contract from National Joint Power Alliance (NJPA).
Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver explained that the department is looking to buy a street sweeper and Marquardt was seeking board acceptance to move forward with the purchase through this company. The board provided unanimous approval of the contract with NJPA.
Additionally, a sidewalk repair request was submitted by a resident for the board’s consideration. However, Xaver stated that at this time, the board had to deny the request because it doesn’t fit into the MACOG plan.
Xaver reported that MACOG, or the Michiana Area Council of Governments, created a plan for the city a couple of years ago that prioritizes sidewalk repair projects by how often the street that is parallel to the sidewalk is utilized
The strip of sidewalk included in the request has some other projects ahead of it so crews will not be able to repair it this year.
