Bids to replace the sidewalk in the 800 block of North Main Street were considered during the Bourbon Town Council meeting last Tuesday.
Street Superintendent Roger Terry presented two bids for the sidewalk replacement, according to meeting minutes. One bid from Bontrager Concrete came in at $12,580, while Hensley Concrete submitted a bid of $10,200. Members voted unanimously to approve the bid provided by Hensley Concrete.
Additionally, Superintendent Terry mentioned that several citizens have approached him about extending the sidewalk on the east side of Main Street to the new Dollar General location. He told members that he has asked Hensley Concrete to assess the area and submit a quote for that section. He said he will return with an estimated cost for the work during the council’s next meeting.
