Marshall County Crossroads Named Stellar Communities Finalist

Marshall County has been named a finalist in the 2018 Stellar Communities Program. Marshall County Crossroads – a cooperative effort involving Argos, Bremen, Bourbon, Culver, LaPaz, and Plymouth, as well as the county itself – is one of six regions in the running for this year’s Stellar designation. The Stellar Communities Program offers resources and planning help for grant applications and project development.

The Town of Culver was named a Stellar Community in 2017. This year, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs has changed the program to a region-based model, requiring two or more communities to form a partnership.

The list of finalists was announced last week. Each of the finalist regions will get a planning grant, along with help from Ball State University’s Indiana Communities Institute.

The 2018 Stellar Communities designees are expected to be announced in December.
