Calling all Motorcycle Riders! Kersting’s Cycle Center is Hosting Multiple Events This Weekend

Kersting’s Cycle Center has events happening this weekend that will give motorcycle riders a couple of chances to break out the bikes.

Today, Kersting’s will be holding an open house, recognizing Harley Davidson’s 115th Anniversary. The first 115 individuals to arrive will get a pin commemorating the occasion. The event will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. ET today. Office Manager Sandy Kersting-Rudd mentioned that the event will have refreshments, door prizes and an in-house poker run. They will also be showing Harley Davidson’s anniversary models and depending on the weather, there may be some demonstration rides held.

If you don’t get your fill of motorcycle fun today, you’ll have another chance tomorrow. On Sunday, Kersting’s will host their annual “Blessing of the Bikes” ride.

Kersting-Rudd said that they will be doing things a bit differently this year. She explained that rather than hosting the service at the shop like they’ve done in the past, riders will take a trip to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, which is just outside of the town of Twelve Mile. She said the 60-mile ride will last about one hour.

Once everyone reaches the destination, riders will attend a church service and then the blessing of the bikes ceremony will be held. That will be followed by a carry-in dinner hosted by the church.

Riders are being asked to show up at Kersting’s Cycle Center in Winamac before 8:30 a.m. ET in order to have enough time to pick up a map at the meetup site before everyone takes off toward Twelve Mile.

If the weather is not cooperating the day of the “Blessings of the Bikes” event, an alternate date has been set for May 6th. Kersting’s Cycle Center is located at 8774 West 700 North in Winamac.
