The Marshall County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) was one of the 15 organizations who received grant funding from the Arrow Head Country RC&D when they recently awarded over $49,000 in grants.
Arrow Head awarded the Marshall County organization $3,000 for their 2018 programs and workshops, according to a press release from SWCD District Coordinator Debbie Palmer.
The Arrow Head Country Resource Conservation and Development Area Inc. is a non-profit organization that has provided over $235,000 in grants in the last 4 years. The organization contains members from 10 different counties, including Starke, Marshall and Pulaski.
They are aimed at improving the quality of life for all people living in a particular area by providing local leadership for developing and carrying out plans for the orderly conservation, improvement and development of an area as well as promoting the wise use of natural resources.
