Road conditions are being blamed for a crash that sent two Plymouth residents to hospitals Tuesday morning. Marshall County Police say it happened shortly before 10:00 on Lincoln Highway east of Pioneer Drive.
Officers say a Ford Ranger driven by Sarah Betz, 40, was heading east, when road surface conditions caused it to go into the westbound lanes, hitting a Ford F-250 driven by Zaccheus Hutchings, 45. Both vehicles sustained heavy impact, according to police.
Officers say the airbags deployed in Betz’s vehicle, leaving her unconscious. Betz was later flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, while Hutchings was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
The Plymouth Police, Fire, and EMS departments assisted the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
