Culver Community Schools is offering pre-school classes next school year and parents and students will have a chance to come check things out next week
On Tuesday, March 13th, the school will be holding a pre-kindergarten round-up at 6 p.m. ET at Culver Elementary School. This event is for children who will be entering pre-school next year. Parents should bring along their child’s most recent immunization records and their birth certificate.
Superintendent Karen Shuman explained said the school is in the process of acquiring the proper licensure in order to be a part of the On My Way Pre-K program. However, she said that process may not be complete prior to next school year but pre-kindergarten will still be offered.
School officials have a few goals listed for Culver’s pre-school program. The goals are for students to be able to identify numbers and count to ten, identify letters and their sounds, copy and draw simple lines and letters and describe experiences and activities with detail. They also intend for students to understand patterns, the spatial reasoning of time and volume, to engage in cooperative play and draw conclusions.
