Walkerton Man Arrested, After Reportedly Trying to Leave Scene of Single-Vehicle Crash

A Walkerton man faces drunk driving charges, following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night. Marshall County Police say the incident was reported shortly before 11:30. When officers arrived, they say they found a heavily damaged white 2001 Chevrolet van in the roadway, but no one was around.

Police say they eventually found the driver, Matthew Thomas Morris, 40, trying to leave the area. Officers believed that Morris had been drinking alcohol before the crash. He later failed a certified chemical test, according to police.

Morris was then taken to the Marshall County Jail for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
