Various technology updates were discussed during the Triton School Board meeting last week.
Members considered a quote for anti-virus software for the school corporation when they met on Monday. They unanimously approved a $28,000 quote from the company Barkly.
Technology Director Ted Fisher also informed the board that sixth grade students will soon be receiving new Google Chrome Books. Triton Superintendent Jeremy Riffle explained why those computers were chosen above any other option.
Riffle said, “That now makes our third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade all [with] Google Chrome Books. So it’s just a lower cost, more effective option to be consistent through those grades.”
The superintendent mentioned that the updated computers are being provided as a part of Triton’s 5-year replacement plan.
