Triton School Board Members Reorganize at First Meeting of the Year

The Triton School board members elected officers and addressed appointments when they met on Monday.

Superintendent Jeremy Riffle said that Amy Middaugh was elected to retain her position as president of the school board while Terri Barnhart was re-elected as school board security. Members voted to have Kevin Boyer remain as vice president of the school board.

Additionally, Board President Middaugh was also appointed to serve as the elementary school representative for the student handbook and textbook adoption committees. Secretary Barnhart was appointed as the Indiana School Board Association Delegate and Legislative Liaison as well as the rep for the textbook adoption and student handbook committees at the high school level.

Board members also appointed various individuals to additional positions. Tom McFarland was reappointed to the treasurer’s position and he also serves as the business manager for the school corporation. Tim Shelly was reappointed to serve as the school attorney.

Superintendent Riffle said that when it comes to board policy representatives, Barnhart and Middaugh will serve as the main individuals but the Corporation Secretary and Transportation Director Mindy Klotz, would also play a role in those meetings.
