According to Triton Schools Superintendent Jeremy Riffle, the Triton School Board members’ salaries for 2018 will remain the same as last year.
Riffle said the salary is set at $1,500 per year, regardless of the position that an individual holds, meaning that a board president doesn’t make more money than any other board member.
Additionally, members had to submit nepotism forms during Tuesday night’s board meeting. Riffle explained that these forms just establish whether a board member is related to a particular faculty member so that future decisions can be monitored to watch for any potential conflicts of interest.
Submitting conflict of interest and nepotism forms during the first meeting of the year is a common requirement that all school boards and other governing bodies are required to complete in order to ensure fairness.
