The Marshall County Community Foundation is now accepting grant applications for this year. If you’re seeking assistance from the organization you’ll need to act fast, as the first round of applications are due February 1st.
The grants provided support specific projects or programs throughout Marshall County, typically focusing on human services, recreation, the environment, health, education and the arts. Community members who serve on the Grants Committee evaluate the grant proposal and conduct site visits during a competitive application process.
Additionally, MCCF is accepting grant proposals for the Ralph C. Vonnegut Jr. Fund. Once each year, proposals are accepted for this endowment fund that supports environmental, education or recreational projects directly related to Lake Maxinkuckee.
Grant applications for both the Community Funds and the Vonnegut Jr. Fund are due by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 1st.
Marshall County Community Foundation Executive Director Linda Yoder said she feels the grants awarded by the Foundation help meet emerging needs and inspire innovation. She added that their nonprofit community is vibrant and full of passion to support projects that improve the quality of life in Marshall County.
Applicants are required to be organizations with 501(c)(3) IRS Status. However, applications will also be accepted by organizations with 501(c) status whose request is charitable in nature and is for either start-up costs for new programs and the expansion of needed programs or one-time projects or needs.
