Staff members of Culver Community School Corporation now have the ability to use the fitness center at Culver Academy.
At the Culver Community School Board meeting earlier this week, Superintendent Karen Shuman alerted board members that an interesting opportunity recently received the approval from the Academy Board.
She said there are waivers that employees can take in to the Academy’s Siegfried Fitness Center located in the lower level of the Steinbrenner Recreation Center. If they show an ID that confirms they are a school employee, they would be free to utilize the facilities.
Staff is permitted to use all the equipment and locker rooms. They can also enroll in classes. Superintendent Shuman said she was told to avoid going on weekend since it’s typically packed with students then. She said the best times to go would be during the week in the mornings between 6 and 7:30 a.m. and in the evenings between 6 and 8 p.m.
She added that faculty should be aware that the facility does close early on Fridays. She said the hours and a list of classes can be viewed at culver.org.
