Thanks to a partnership with Public Alert, the town of Culver can now reach more people with up-to-date alerts and information via text, e-mail and voice messaging. Alerts will be used to communicate utility issues, road closures and other important information that can impact the daily life of residents.
Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim said the old method of distributing alerts was limiting because they were sending out text alerts and posting to social media. She acknowledged that many residents don’t have access to email, Facebook or text messaging and they were only reaching a small segment of residents. The new method of alerts will be able to access many more individuals.
There are two ways to sign up for these alerts; you can either fill out the back of September’s utility bill and return it with your payment or visit public alert’s website and click on the ‘email form for residential info’ button. Residents will need to know their utility account number to complete the application with required information. Non-residents who wish to receive updates about Culver can enter the number zero six times in place of an account number. A link to the application can be found here.
