The Plymouth Community School Corporation is looking to streamline the way it responds to emergencies.
Updated emergency procedures were approved by the school board Tuesday. “[Director of Safety and Security] Mr. Ted Brown has been working on these tirelessly with a committee,” explained Superintendent Andy Hartley. “Updates include improvements in efficiencies within the procedures, especially as it responds to crisis situations. He’s not only worked internally. He’s also worked with a committee of community members and teaches, as well as a consultant from DOE.”
Brown told board members that his committee looked at other companies, as well as the Department of Education, and borrowed some of their protocols. He said the goal is for people to be able to react more quickly to an emergency, without having to stop and think about what to do.
