Plymouth Police Finalizing Hiring Round, Fire Department Looking for Paramedics

Plymouth Police Chief David Bacon is getting closer to hiring a police officer for his department.

He told the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety last week that the field of 33 applicants was narrowed down to 26 who were invited to the written and physical agility testing on June 24. Bacon said 21 attended the testing and 17 were able to move on to take the written test after passing the physical agility portion of the process. Thirteen of those tested are now on to the next phase of background investigations.

Bacon noted that none of the applicants have any law enforcement experience.

Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller is accepting applications for a career firefighter/paramedic. An application packet is available at the fire department at 111 N. Center Street in Plymouth. The office is open from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The application deadline is Friday, Aug. 25 at 4 p.m.
