Bremen Police Conducting Impaired Driving Campaign

The Bremen Police Department is joining most Indiana law enforcement agencies in the state in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Bremen officers will be out in full force from mid-August through the Labor Day weekend in September targeting impaired drivers. They will increase sobriety checkpoints, roving patrols and saturation patrols.

An impaired driver usually swerves, weaves or drifts all over the road and drives at a slow speed. A drunk driver also makes wide turns, brakes erratically, responds slowly to traffic signals, comes close to striking objects or vehicles, and drives on the wrong side of the road. If you see this type of behavior while driving, safely pull over and dial 911.

Designate a sober driver if you plan on drinking.

The Indiana law enforcement agencies have participated in the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign for more than 20 years. Overtime patrols are supported with federal highway safety funds administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
