Road Work Planned Today, Watch for Closures

Plymouth-Goshen Trail in Marshall County will be closed as crews work to crack seal the road. Marshall County Highway Supervisor Jason Peters said the work will be done from city limits to U.S. 30 over the next couple of days. The road is being prepared for chip and seal work.

Peters said the chip and seal work will be done on several county roads and will take approximately one month to complete. He urges motorists to drive carefully on these roads with the new surface. Reduce your speed and drive with care so the loose road surface doesn’t cause damage to vehicles.

Along with Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Overmyer Drive is another major road on the chip seal list for this year along with Olive Trail and Pioneer Drive. These roads will be closed for a period of time in order to efficiently complete the process.

In other road work in the area today, INDOT crews will be repairing and repaving sections of State Road 17 between State Road 14 in Fulton County and State Road 10 in Marshall County. This work is anticipated to continue through the first part of August.

State Road 17 will be open to all through traffic, but restricted to one lane in both directions. There could be delays during this process. Motorists are urged to allow extra time for travel during this construction project.
