Coroner Finds Boy’s Death Accidental

The Allen County Coroner’s investigation into the death of a Plymouth teenager is complete.

According to Chief Investigator Michael Burris, 13-year-old Anthony Filley, of Plymouth, died of blunt force trauma as a result of a head injury sustained after falling off of his bicycle. Burris determined that the manner of death was accidental.

The incident happened on Friday, June 9 just before 5 p.m. at the Inwood Mobile Home Park on Hawthorn Road just south of U.S. 30 in Plymouth. The boy was flown from the scene to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene along with the Bourbon Police Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS and Lutheran Air.
