Nominations are now open for the 2017 Golden Hoosier Award. It honors senior citizens for their lifetime of service and commitment to their communities and is considered one of highest honors the state gives.
Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch urges everyone to nominate a special neighbor but especially calls on Indiana’s mayors, town councils and community groups to take time to recognize people who make their communities better.
Prospective nominees must currently reside in Indiana, be 65 or older and have been a volunteer in the community for the past three years.
Electronic nomination forms are available at www.lg.IN.gov.
Completed applications must be electronically submitted by Wednesday, May 24, 2017.
The 2017 Golden Hoosier Awards will be presented on June 23, 2017 during a ceremony in the Indiana Statehouse.
