A LaPorte woman and an Argos man each face reckless driving charges in Marshall County following separate traffic stops by the Marshall County Police Department.
The first occurred just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday after an officer reportedly clocked a vehicle traveling northbound on U.S. 31 at 18th Road at 97 miles per hour. The driver reportedly sped up when the patrolman got behind her, hitting speeds of over 100 miles per hour. The driver, 18-year-old Taylor Jump of LaPorte eventually stopped at U.S. 31 and 14th Road. She was arrested for reckless driving. An officer from the Argos Police Department assisted with that pursuit.
The second incident happened around 5:20 this morning when an officer spotted a vehicle driving 102 miles per hour on Lincoln Highway near Fir Road. The driver, 18-year-old Jacob Scott Walker of Bremen, was arrested for reckless driving.
