Drug Free Marshall County Announces Grant Recipients

Drug Free Marshall County is stepping up efforts to combat drug and alcohol misuse by awarding grants worth more than $57,000 to local entities. Schools, law enforcement and treatment providers in Marshall County will use the funds for initiatives like drug testing, financial assistance for those in need of treatment and drug and alcohol education and prevention.

Grants for drug testing in the schools were awarded to Argos, Triton, Bremen, LaVille and Plymouth. The Plymouth Parks Department also received funds to provide drug and alcohol education during their 2017 summer camp.

Project DARE of Marshall County, the Bremen and Bourbon Police Departments, Marshall County Probation and Youth Court all got criminal justice grants.

Eric Fosters, Inc., A New Direction and the Bowen Center received awards to provide treatment services.

Drug Free Marshall County is a citizen board established in conjunction with the Governor’s Task Force on Enforcement, Treatment and Prevention. It’s funded through court-ordered fines from those convicted of drug and alcohol offenses in Marshall County.
