Bremen High School’s FFA chapter is looking to improve its scholarship offerings, thanks to the Marshall County Community Foundation and the Bremen High School farm.
Bremen students have the chance to get some real-world experience by helping to run a 28-acre farm. After experiencing a good harvest the last two years, FFA students decided to take some of the proceeds and start a scholarship fund at the Community Foundation.
While Bremen FFA scholarships used to depend on how much money was raised during a particular year, the new fund will let the group award a consistent amount every year. The goal is to be able to eventually increase that amount as the fund grows. The Bremen FFA Scholarship Fund began with an initial investment of $10,000, according to the Marshall County Community Foundation.
