Plymouth High School’s Freshmen Orientation takes place tomorrow evening.
The orientation is designed to create a smooth transition for eighth graders who plan to attend Plymouth High School this fall. But according to the school corporation, it’s also an opportunity for students and parents from other school districts who are thinking about transferring to learn more about the school.
The event starts at 5:45 p.m. with an open house in the high school cafeteria. Parents and students will have a chance to look at displays from the various departments. Staff members and current students will be there to answer questions about the school, as well as the programs and courses the school offers.
Then at 6:15, the main portion of the program begins in the auditorium with a brief welcome. That will be followed by interactive breakout sessions on freshmen courses and graduation requirements, career readiness, and life as a Plymouth High School student. The Freshmen Orientation Program is scheduled to run tomorrow from 5:45 to 8:00 p.m.
For current Plymouth High School students, the school’s Guidance Department will host a PSAT Score Report Informational Meeting tomorrow evening from 5:45 to 6:10. During the meeting, students and parents will get paper copies of the test scores and will have the chance to ask questions. School officials say that understanding PSAT scores goes a long way in helping to prepare for the SAT, which will be offered at Plymouth High School in March.
Tomorrow’s PSAT Score Report meeting will be held in the PHS Studio Theater.
