The City of Plymouth finalized some arrangements for the coming year Monday. Bill Walters took his seat on the Plymouth Common Council for the first time, while Duane Culp was sworn in to the board of works. Both replace Mike Delp, who resigned following his election to the Marshall County Board of Commissioners.
Delp had offered to remain on the Plymouth Plan Commission, representing the common council. However, Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver says it was determined that representative must be a member of the council, and Don Ecker Jr. was selected to replace Delp on the plan commission Monday. Additionally, Ecker was again selected to serve as mayor pro-tempore.
Xaver says the board of works will continue to meet at 6:00 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of each month, with the common council meetings following at 6:30. However, the December 25, 2017 meetings have been moved to Wednesday, December 27.
