Ancilla College Officials Tout Scholarship Offerings

Prospective and returning Ancilla College students may qualify for a variety of academic and athletic scholarships from the private, two-year college in Donaldson.

Among the more than 30 offered is the REAch Scholarship, which was increased this year over every category. Vice President for Enrollment Management Eric Wignall says the Rewarding Excellent Achievements Scholarship is open to any high school graduate under the age of 21 prior to the start of fall classes who has not yet earned 12 college credits.

It uses the incoming student’s high school grade point average and indexes it with the students ACT or SAT scores to determine assistance levels.

Ancilla’s annual tuition of under $15,000 makes it the lowest cost private college in Indiana and one of the 10 least expensive in the Midwest, according to Wignall. He says the scholarship can cover nearly 50 percent of the annual tuition for students and is renewable if they maintain a B or better average at the end of their freshman year.

Wignall adds full-time tuition at Ancilla is frozen at the same rate as long as students are enrolled and covers up to 17 credit hours per semester.

The REAch is an academic scholarship, but it can be combined with any of the school’s athletic scholarships as well. Ancilla also offers scholarships for students in nursing and business, from several local communities and for Catholic students. Academic awards are also available to valedictorian and salutatorian graduates from high schools in nine northern Indiana counties. Visit www.ancilla.edu for more information.
