Marshal County exceeded the state average voter turnout in the November 2016 General Election, according to figures released by the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office.
Locally 61 percent of voters cast ballots, compared to the statewide average of 58-percent. In Marshall County, 31 percent of voters took advantage of the absentee option. That number is down from the statewide average of 38-percent absentee participation.
By the numbers in Marshall County, 30,300 people are registered to vote, and 18,566 did so.
