Clocks will roll back one hour on Sunday, but local emergency management agency officials are putting out a few reminders to go along with it.
The time change starts at 2:00 a.m. local time on Sunday. Many make the change before heading to bed on Saturday evening.
The occasion should not only be seen for changing the time on your household timekeeping pieces, it should also be used to change batteries in household smoke detectors. Emergency management agency officials from around the state emergency radio batteries should be changed as well.
In past years, EMA department’s have said that forgetting to change smoke alarm batteries can put families at risk in the instance of an overnight fire.
The time change will continue until March of 2017.
