A man has been found dead, after a SWAT team standoff near Lakeville Friday. St. Joseph County Sheriff Michael Grzegorek says police were called to a home in the 21000 block of Osborne Road around 9:00 a.m. for a welfare check on Brian Trowbridge, 52.
According to WNDU-TV, the Special Victims Unit was investigating Trowbridge, following allegations of inappropriate contact with a minor. After knocking on the door, officers heard a gunshot, and the SWAT team was called to the scene. Once a warrant was issued, officers entered the home and found Trowbridge dead from what they believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
WNDU-TV says an autopsy is scheduled Monday, November 28 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
