The Marshall County Prosecutor’s office today confirmed the identity of a body found near Plymouth on Saturday.
Marshall County Police were called to the 18-thousand block of Lincoln Highway around 1:00 p.m. to a report of a body found on the property.
While gathering information, officers say they learned that a brown 2007 Buick LaCrosse belonging to the property owner was missing from the home. Police sought information on the vehicle which was eventually located near the Canadian border in the state of New York.
On Tuesday, Marshall County Prosecutor Nelson Chipman said the body has been identified as 78-year-old Richard Paul Costello. An autopsy on Monday used known x-ray records from 2012 to make the determination.
In their release, the prosecutor’s office says they are considering the death a homicide at this time. Costello’s body displayed blunt force trauma to the head.
An investigation into the case is continuing.
