Renovations to a couple of facilities in the Plymouth Community School Corporation are basically complete.
During Tuesday’s school board meeting, a project update on construction work to the football bleachers and the administration building were given. Superintendent Dan Tyree says they’re down to the punch list.
“We made our last payment to Southern Bleachers,” says Tyree. “In writing we got an assurance that they would cover the bleacher jersey if were not to last. We stayed in budget on the project and everything looks nice.”
For months, the school corporation worked to design, finance, bid and begin construction on the upgrades.
The football facilities underwent renovations to its ticket booths, restrooms, and concession stands in addition to seeing new bleachers installed. The company that erected the bleachers also installed a screen to prevent wind and enhance the appearance of the field.
Extra space at the school corporation’s administration building is also nearing completion. Tyree says there are a few minor things left to do.
“Furniture has been setup and we’re unpacking the boxes that we packed a couple of days ago to move so we’re essentially done with the project,” says Tyree.
The administration building was in need of additional meeting space and storage capacity to keep hard copies of records. Those records will be moved into the administration building from a separate building.
School board members agreed that the process was completed smoothly.
