The Marshall County Commissioners will hear from the Court Appointed Special Advocates during their Monday morning meeting.
CASA reports periodically to the Commissioners on their activities defending children’s interests in the Marshall County Court system. Specifically, the group aims to advocate for the interests of abused and neglected children with the help of local volunteers. This week, CASA Executive Director Chastity Keller will give the not-for-profit organization’s annual report.
The Commissioners will also consider an amendment to the county’s zoning ordinance. Plan Commission Director Ralph Booker will present the change for consideration. The amendment will head to three readings before approval. The Commissioners may also suspend the rules to adopt the changes on Monday.
According to the advance agenda, the board will also consider the approval of a couple of grant application requests by both the Prosecutor’s office and the Commissioners. They’re looking to apply for a grant through the IPEP’s Public Safety program.
This morning’s meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. EST at the Marshall County Building.
