Indiana’s police officers are some of the most overworked in the country. That’s according to a list compiled by SafeWise, a group analyzing home security systems as well as other security statistics.
According to their report, Indiana ranked 10th when it comes to overworked police officers. SafeWise says Indiana has one police officer for every 294 people. Each officer had to handle an average of just under 14 violent and property crimes.
Michigan topped the list, with each officer handling an average of 28 crimes. SafeWise says it used 2014 FBI crime data, as well as Census Bureau data to compile the report.
