Several Culver Elementary School students will be getting a nutritional boost, thanks to a recent Blessings in a Backpack fundraiser. Nearly $5,000 was raised during the second annual Bolt for Blessings Fun Run/Walk last weekend, according to volunteers with the organization.
That’s enough money to provide about 50 students with food to take home over the weekends during the school year. The goal of Blessings in a Backpack is to make sure elementary students still receive the proper nutrition on days when they’re not getting meals at school.
For more information about volunteering or donating food, contact the organization through the Blessings in a Back Pack Culver Facebook page. Monetary donations may be made through the national Blessings in a Backpack organization’s website by listing Culver Elementary School as the recipient.
