Those seeking a spot on the Marshall County Council and Commissioners had an opportunity for voters to ask questions about their policy proposals, Thursday night.
The Center at Donaldson hosted a candidate forum which saw candidates for state office and local government discuss their experience and how it might influence Marshall County residents.
Two candidates are running for the County Commissioners District 2 seat. Republican Mike Delp discussed some ongoing needs in the county.
“I think we all know that we need some help on our roads in Marshall County although I’ve seen a pretty good improvement this year, but we do need to keep that as a forefront of one of the things that we do,” says Delp.
Democratic Candidate Rex Crump touted his previous experience serving as the clerk of the courts in Marshall County.
“I brought to fruition the new voting system that you use now,” says Crump. “When I was in there, I brought in the microvote system.”
Crump added he’s looking for a way to get involved.
Those seeking office on the Marshall County Council occupied a large swath of the candidate forum, telling those in attendance about their plans for fiscal management and for better maintaining county infrastructure.
The Center at Donaldson allowed those in attendance to ask questions of the candidates in a less formal environment following the forum.
You will be able to hear the complete candidate forum this Sunday during Maximum Impact at Noon EDT.
