Plymouth Police are investigating following a skimmer device located on an area ATM.
Officers responded to Pilgrim Lane in Plymouth on Sunday morning to the site of a 1st Source Bank ATM. Police say they located a skimmer device attached to the machine.
Skimmers are often made to look like the card slot, or placed over the actual card slot, to capture credit or bank card information. Once the individual has scanned their card to make their withdrawal, the card information can be gleaned by the thief digitally.
Plymouth police say they are unsure how long the device was in use before it was discovered. They are recommending that anyone who may have used the ATM to keep an eye on their bank accounts.
