Football season is well underway, but there there is still a bit more work that needs to be done at Plymouth High School’s stadium. While it was officially dedicated at the August 19 football game, Superintendent Dan Tyree told the Plymouth School Board Tuesday that some minor punch-list work will continue for the next two months. He says a few items need to be manufactured, such as handrails.
However, the school corporation is also planning a few additional upgrades in the near future. Tyree says a second ticket booth at the north end of the stadium couldn’t be funded in this year’s project, but the school may be able to install it next summer. Additionally, more handicap parking spaces will be added when the parking lot is resealed. Tyree adds that commemorative bricks for the stadium are still available.
At the same time, the corporation’s administration building addition is on track to be largely complete by mid-October. Tyree says HVAC and electrical work is just about finished, and about 90 percent of the drywall has been installed. The next step will be the installation of the dropped ceiling.
The school corporation plans to begin using the new space around November 1.
