Upgraded Plymouth Stadium Getting Ready for Football Season

PlymouthFootball3Work on Plymouth High School’s stadium continues, ahead of the first home football game in a few weeks.

Plymouth Schools Superintendent Dan Tyree told the school board Tuesday that the stadium will be ready for the August 19 football game. “The restrooms are complete,” he said. “The concrete is complete. I think there’s some that has to dry over there, but it’s been poured. Landscaping has been started by decorative landscape rock services. The concession stand is ready to finish – just waiting on a few parts. Bleacher cleanup and bleacher jersey should happen the week of August 8. The fencing, the black wrought-iron fence, should start on August 5, which is Friday.”

Tyree also said the facility has passed health inspections. Additionally, the installation of paving bricks is about a quarter of the way complete. The school corporation has been selling commemorative bricks to raise funds for the future installation of new turf at the field. Tyree noted that many local businesses have also been helping with landscaping, fencing, and other items.

He invited school board members to take part in the dedication ceremony for the upgraded football stadium when Plymouth hosts Bremen on August 19. In addition to being on-schedule, the project has also remained within budget.
