Hoosier drivers will have new state-issued license plates in 2017, and they can have a say now in which of three designs will be chosen.

Choices include a blue, red and green plate depicting a covered bridge over a creek; a white, blue and yellow choice with a torch and stars over the silhouette of Indiana and the slogan “The Hoosier State” and a plate with a white background, blue numbers and a yellow, bottom border with the slogan, “Crossroads of America.”

BMV Commissioner Kent Abernathy unveiled the designs last week at the Indiana State Fair. Visitors can vote at the BMV State Fair display in Exposition Hall or online at www.myBMV.com until midnight on Sept. 5.

New plates featuring the winning design will be issued starting in January as the current Bicentennial design is phased out.
