33 Indiana lakes and rivers are receiving DNR grant funds and two Marshall County bodies of water will be among them.
According to Ancilla College, Galbraith Lake in Donaldson will be sharing a portion of $1.2-million in Indiana DNR funds for 2016 and 2017. The Lake and River Enhancement grant, LARE, was announced earlier this month.
$15-thousand will be used to monitor water quality on the lake and its tributaries, and for sampling at inlets to the lake. Water quality monitoring aims to better understand trends, emerging problems, and pollution.
Further, the Yellow River in Marshall County will receive a $50-thousand grant to stabilize its bank and prevent erosion. A press release indicates that the City of Plymouth Park Department will be working to construct a canoe launch at River Park Square in Plymouth.
